WATER FOR LIFE SPONSORING WATER LAW SEMINARS
By Water for Life

Water for Life, Inc. is hosting “Oregon Water Law Institute” a seminar on water law in the state of Oregon. These seminars will cover the Pros & Cons of Conservation Easements and Water Quality and Toxics.

“Agricultural water rights are under attack! Water rights attached to agricultural land in Eastern Oregon comprise more than 95% of the production value of that land,” stated Senator Doug Whitsett. “The Water for Life Water Law seminar brings a lawyer to your area who is nationally recognized in water law to present an interactive, understandable forum. Landowners should not miss this opportunity to learn how to preserve these very valuable private property rights for their families and for future generations.”

The seminar will be presented by Laura A. Schroeder, an attorney with the Schroeder Law Office with over 20 years experience in water law in the western United States.

The trainings will be held Tuesday, September 20 in Sisters; Tuesday, October 25 in Burns; and Tuesday, November 22 in LaGrande from 9:00 am – 4:00 pm. Details of the curriculum are available at www.waterforlife.net under Resources.

Registration is $75 per person for the full day, and includes lunch or $35 per person for half day. For more information or to register call Helen Moore at Water for Life (503) 375-6003 or email helen.moore@waterforlife.net.

Water for Life is a non-profit organization with the mission of protecting agricultural water rights.
