Required Employee Sick Leave Receives Hearing
The House Business and Labor Committee is holding a hearing on HB 3390 [7] which require employers to provide sick leave to their workers. According to the bill, employers, “…who employ six or more employees in this state for each working day during each of 20 or more calendar workweeks in the year
“… would be required to provide seven days of paid sick days a year. A paid sick leave policy shall, at a minimum, provide a full-time employee with one hour of sick time for every 30 hours worked.
The public hearing is scheduled for Wednesday, April 3 at 8:00 AM in Hearing Room E. Your comments on the proposed legislation is greatly needed. It is important to discuss the impact this legislation would have on farms, especially during harvest time.
