Hundreds of bills died due to lack of action. March 28th was the deadline for bills to be scheduled for a work session in their chamber of origin. April 9th will determine the fate of many other pieces of legislation. Next Tuesday, bills must be passed out of committee to stay alive.

Several bills that OFS is tracking died on March 28th, but there are several who’s fate is still lingering. Here are priority bills that OFS is tracking that are still active:

HB 2619 – Bans neonicotinoids, related to pesticides. OPPOSE – House Energy & Environment – Hearing & Possible Work Session on April 9th

HB 2816 – IPM update. SUPPORT – Passed to Ways & Means

HB 2980 – Extend the sunset on Pesticide Use Reporting. SUPPORT – Passed to Ways & Means

HB 3058 – Chlorpyrifos ban & classifies neonics as RUP, related to pesticides. OPPOSE – House Agriculture & Land Use – Work Session April 9th

SB 853 – Chlorpyrifos ban & classifies neonics as RUP, related to pesticides
OPPOSE – Senate Environment & Natural Resources – Work Session April 8th

SB 926 – Bans aerial applications on state lands. OPPOSE – Senate Environment & Natural Resources – Work Session April 8th

SB 931 – Mandates notification of forestry applications and post application reporting. OPPOSE – Senate Environment & Natural Resources – Work Session April 8th
