Excerpt from Director’s Corner:
April 17th is the deadline for bills to be heard. Any bills not moving by April 17th will be declared dead. Of the more than 3,000 pieces of introduced legislation, the League currently has placed more than 200 bills on the “watch list”. The issues are far reaching and could result in very significant impacts to the producers of Oregon. Once the Revenue Forecast is received mid- May, the Legislature will be forced to make some very diffi cult decisions. State Agencies have been directed to present budgets refl ective of 10, 20 and 30 percent reductions.
