Wheat Industry Introduces New CEO to Producers
By Oregon Wheat Growers League

The Oregon Wheat Growers League Board of Directors (OWGL) and the Oregon Wheat Commission (OWC) proudly announce the hiring of the new CEO for the Oregon Wheat industry. Blake Rowe of Longview, Washington, will begin work on June 1, 2011. Rowe brings to the industry over thirty years’ experience in the Natural Resources arena in the Pacific Northwest. His qualifications include a strong knowledge and experience with regulatory and legislative processes, markets, working with trade associations, strategic and operational planning and management.

The OWGL and OWC have numerous grower discussions and workshops scheduled in June that will give Blake ample opportunities to meet wheat producers throughout the state.

Blake will serve as the primary spokesperson for the wheat industry; manage the offices and staffs of the Commission office in Portland and the OWGL office in Pendleton; serve the OWGL board of directors and OWC commissioners simultaneously; and advocate on behalf of the industry. He will work from both the Commission and League offices, and travel throughout the state to growers’ events as they are scheduled.
