Columbia Gorge wheat farmers see best ever yeilds
By Oregon Wheat Growers League
Harvest is in full operation in many areas throughout the state, and reported yields are encouraging.
Reports of above average to ‘best ever’ yields have been coming in from the counties along the gorge. One Umatilla producer reported the best harvest in four generations, and a Sherman County producer reported double the expected yield.
Higher elevations and irrigated crops expect to harvest in the next week to two weeks.
CEO Blake Rowe continues to mediate on trucking issues with ODOT; however, these have been few. If you encounter abnormal delays or problems, please contact the OWGL offi ce to report the incident(s).
