Legislature: Historic win for farm & ranch families.

By Oregon Farm Bureau

SB 863, the bill which keeps regulation of agricultural seed production at the state and federal levels passed both chambers of the legislature today and is on its way to the governor’s desk. This is an enormous win for farm and ranch families in Oregon.
Thank you to each of you who wrote or called or emailed a legislator. Thank you for your Tweets, and Facebook and blog posts. Thanks for writing letters to the editor and guest opinion pieces. This was a team effort, and your engagement was essential in pushing this special session across the finish line.

Please remember to thank your legislators and the governor as well. This package of bills took enormous amounts of work to negotiate and pass. Too many times in modern political life public figures spout rhetoric rather than rolling up their sleeves to do public good. Today in the Oregon Legislature, leaders rolled up their sleeves and did a tremendous public good. It wasn’t easy.

We’ll share more as we catch our breath after this landmark special session.
