Farm Bureau issues guide to measures, candidates

Oregon-Farm-BureauBy Barry Bushue, President
Oregon Farm Bureau

Oregon Farm Bureau offers its 2014 Election Guide, designed to help Farm Bureau members select the best candidates and ballot measures for Oregon agriculture.

The endorsements reflect OFB’s public policy positions, which are developed by family farmers and ranchers through an open, grassroots, democratic process.

Incumbent candidates were evaluated on their voting record on Farm Bureau-supported bills during the 2013 and 2014 Oregon Legislative Sessions. Newcomers were considered based on county Farm Bureau input and interviews with OFB staff.

Ultimately, the goal is to support candidates and measures that will best address the needs of family agriculture at the state and national levels.

Ballots will be mailed out on Oct. 17. Remember that ballots must be received by Nov. 4, not postmarked by Nov. 4.
