Well-Known ranch needs caretaker

By Oregon Family Farm Association

The Bureau of Land Management is looking for a caretaker willing to spend three weeks in August at Riddle Ranch in the Southeast Oregon mountains.  The caretaker will live from August 7 to 31 in a rustic cabin for two near the Little Blitzen River on Steens Mountain about 80 miles from Burns, Ore., overseeing historic buildings and artifact and providing direction and historical information to travelers. The cabin has electricity, running water, a cookstove with oven, and a refrigerator freezer but spotty cellular service, although caretakers receive a BLM radio for emergencies.
