By Oregonians for Food and Shelter,
OFS continues to track the work of Oregon’s Environmental Justice Council, as the Council directs the development of a new Environmental Justice mapping tool for Oregon based on HB 4077, passed in the 2022 Legislative Session. Two OFS staff members, Katie Murray and Tiffany Monroe, serve on the Council. Over the next year, the Council will be making critical decisions on the specific data that will be used by the tool in order to identify environmental justice communities as defined in the original bill.
To be added to the Environmental Justice Council email list to receive meeting notices, or for questions, write to: [email protected]. OFS encourages you to make your voice heard by participating in the public comment portion of Environmental Justice Council meetings. Written comments are accepted until 5:00 p.m. the evening prior to the meeting by emailing [email protected]. Verbal testimony will be received during the public comment portion of each meeting.
