Pot sales are flat

By Oregon Small Business Association Foundation,

Oversupply and falling prices kept sales of cannabis in Oregon relatively flat in 2024 at $959 million, only 0.5 percent higher than the $955 million in 2023 sales, according to The Portland Business Journal. A significant drop in sales in Multnomah County—from $313 million in 2020 to $213 million in 2024—also played a role in the lower numbers. Cannabis sales peaked at $1.18 billion in 2021, the journal reported. Lower sales are likely to persist if not worsen, according to the journal’s review of Oregon Liquor and Cannabis Commission data. Production grew 28 percent last year to a record harvest of 12.3 million west tons of cannabis, up from 9.6 million in 2022 and 2023.
