IP 28 Update
By Oregonians for Food and Shelter,

OFS and our animal agriculture, fishing, and hunting allies continue to prepare for the possible qualification of Initiative Petition 28 on November’s ballot. Late last week, petitioners added around 9000 signatures to their total, putting them very close to the 117,000 threshold needed to qualify by early July. Election advisors suggest they will still need around 20,000 more than that to ensure enough valid signatures.

At this point, it’s worth considering whether it would actually be beneficial to have this measure on the ballot, to encourage voter turnout and allow Oregonians to weigh in and roundly reject this astounding extreme measure targeting pest control, hunting, fishing, livestock production and all those who rely on these sectors — which is of course, all of us.
