As part of its recycling program, California has offered a $5 million grant to help Revino expand its reusable wine bottles with a washing and processing center. With the CalRecycle grant, Revino, a Newberg startup that has sold 1.9 million specially designed bottles for Oregon wineries during its four years of operation, plans to build a plant in Lompoc, Calif., to wash 5,000 glass bottles an hour. Revino opened a small washing plant in McMinnville using a $250,000 Oregon state grant. The company’s bottles will carry the “Reuse” symbol to encourage recycling and return of bottles to collection sites.
