Regulatory Update

Oregon’s natural resource agencies have been releasing workplans for the Governor’s Executive Order 25-26, which directs agencies to work together to increase the resilience of Oregon’s natural and working lands and waters. The EO also establishes a goal of protecting, conserving, or restoring 10% of Oregon’s natural and working lands and waters over the next 10 years. So far, the workplans have largely been a categorization exercise, identifying how existing agency programs support the EO’s four resilience attributes: connectivity, diversity, ecological function, and thriving communities. The workplans provide a starting point for implementing the executive order, but OFS will be watching to see if and how these workplans translate into new policies and programs.
