Minimum Wage Headed for a Vote in the House!
After over three hours of testimony from advocates for and against the minimum wage hike, the House Committee on Business & Labor passed SB 1532-A* on a party line vote with all Republicans voting against the measure. Before the bill passed, amendments were offered by Republicans to refer SB 1532-A to the ballot, remove the emergency clause, and send it to Ways & Means to learn about the fiscal impact to the state and local governments. All amendments failed on party lines.
Farm Bureau appreciates the many members and friends who attended the hearing tonight to testify on this issue for perhaps the last time. SB 1532-A could be voted on this week!
